My pet peeve is misuse of “comprise.” It doesn’t travel with “of,” whereas “compose” does. “The pack was composed of 12 wolves.”But, “the pack comprised 12 wolves.” “Comprised of” is simply incorrect, but this is how language changes and, with some changes, sees certain nuances of meaning disappear.
