(This was on a much smaller scale.) The actress playing Ariel did it shrouded all in black, but manipulating a white Noh mask on a stick. When Prospero frees Ariel, he takes the black shroud off and the audience see the actress' actual face for the first time.

It still amazes me that MS hasn't introduced that functionality to Word (or they have, but only if you do something incredibly convoluted as opposed to just hitting F3 (IIRC)).

It's also ageist, though that's not the immediate concern. The vast majority of people 50 and up are (or would be, if they had decent health care) on at least one prescription daily med.
