Going to be a cold one this evening. If it’s clear where you are, take a look up tonight at the nearly-full moon!

The Pleiades on a recent (and aggravatingly rare) clear evening. About 25 minutes. One of the joys of winter, offsetting the cold days, is we have the luxurious hibernal constellations to hold us till Spring!

Today’s beautiful weather brought to you by our local star. A surprisingly low amount of sunspot activity, given the recent aurorae.

Last night’s moonlit meadow. We were heading to -5°F, the sky held neither clouds nor any moisture. Three-second exposure, iPhone.

Yesterday’s snow was lovely; 8-9” of light powder. Today was a clear blue sky giving way to a cold sunset, with this big ol moon making her ascension in the dusk-hollowed East.

Winter storm is on the way, but first we get a clear shot of the beautiful gibbous moon, just floating there doing her thing. A contemplative sight above the snow-dusted meadow.

The Pleiades, taken last night here in Vermont. So glad the era of film-astrophotography is behind me, the digital telescope makes this much, much easier!! 45-minute exposure. Thanks for checking it out!
