After 2 years of writing, I sent this out for review today.

The Battery has certainly made more money for the Atlanta Braves, but its fiscal consequences as a public investment are unambiguously negative--a net loss of $15 million/year. If it's going to be touted as the "gold standard," this needs to be reported.
ATL Battery is vision for Rays stadium, new owners want ‘as much land as we can get,’ location not chosen
The new owners of the Tampa Bay Rays said their highest priority is building a stadium for the team. During their first-ever press conference, they said they want the team in Tampa Bay, but didn…

"Plano emerging as a strong contender " THIS MAKES NO SENSE! Just because a team PR rep says it doesn't mean it's true. Journalists, you're supposed to use critical thinking skills to evaluate assertions. buff.ly/W38b5r3

This has literally NEVER happened before, but I'm sure *this one will be different!*

If the Rays plan to play in a new stadium by Opening Day 2029, then plans must already be in the works for the facility. That means that key government leaders have likely already agreed to a deal behind the scenes.🤔
New Rays owners want park fixed, then new one
The new owners of the Tampa Bay Rays are promising to get hurricane-damaged Tropicana Field repaired in time for next season and beginning a search for a new ballpark to open in 2029.

I just hate it when people try and rationalize something they desire that isn't going to happen. I love Raleigh, but it's too small a market to support an MLB team, and there's no public financing available.
Could Raleigh Finally Get A Major League Baseball Team?
Fast-growing Raleigh appears to be a good candidate for a Major League Baseball team. But even a minor league club has eluded it for years.

Evidence = data worshiping. The editor who wrote this should be deeply embarrassed. If you went to J-school, contact your dean and demand your tuition money back.

I have immense sympathy for people battling addiction. I have nothing but contempt for paid professionals who promote concocted pretexts to justify their fanciful wishes.

SA Express-News editorial board idiotically backs the Spurs arena plan by asserting it will be "a different story." The "success" they promote has literally never happened before (not once) but they support it because the assert you can't prove it won't fail. www.expressnews.com/opinion/edit...

Of course, the team could just stay in its existing arena built with $125 million in taxpayer funding. Except, the team would like to get into the real estate business, which they want taxpayers to underwrite.

Yes, the agglomeration may skew that way, but I think it's an unlikely destination. It's certainly not where the other teams chose to be in Arlington, which is also discussed in the article. My main point is they making this up for supposed leverage. There is no credible threat to move.

Plano, really? Could they at lease pick a phony relocation target that isn't so obviously unrealistic. Oh yeah, the Stars are going to move 20 miles outside Dallas on the other side of Ft. Worth. Yet, look at all the media coverage of this non-credible ruse.
Dallas Stars ‘evaluating all options’ for next arena, including potential relocation in North Texas
The Dallas Stars are considering a move outside city limits when their lease at American Airlines Center expires in 2031.

If only the County wasn't running a -$15 million annual deficit on Truist Park.

Hey look , Cobb County is poised to raise taxes again. So much for the Braves stadium "fiscal surplus" that the local in-crowd has been crowing about for a decade. "Home run for Cobb"... my ass.
