When CBS had Edward R Murrow stand up to Joe McCarthy. Gave us Walter Cronkite to report and not editorialize. And Dan Rather was considered a step down... but is as you say. When no crook wanted to see 60 Minutes show up with a camera.

Common mistake, John. Saja is playing World Cup quality soccer. At the slightest contact, one should fall to the ground as if shot. Ideally, she'd roll around and hold her knee - but she's doing a great job hoping VAR will issue Charlie a red card.

This first SciFi book I remember reading - when I was about 11 - was A.E. VanVogt's "The Weapon Shops of Isher." I fell in love with the genre after that. Hard to call it optimistic. And hard to say time completely moves forward.

@tombogert.bsky.social thanks. It's funny that we don't judge FOs around here on how they deal with players who want to move, rather only if players want to move. If we have a capable winger and an 8 in the process of signing, then the FO is doing it's job, I'd think.

Almost as unexcited as I am to see Miami given a 4th DP, or as I was for Seattle to get a free pass on re-entry rules. MLS is a half-step away from being WWF.
