I just put my kid to bed and hit her with a "See you next year!". Judging from her level of laughter, I'm pretty sure aim a comic genius.

Every year, as neighbors and friends are taking down decorations.

When I'm working on a project, I have fingers hovering over CTRL+S pretty much all the time.

So, my 8-year-old daughter and I are watching The Sketon Crew. Jude Law plays a character who the main children believe is a Jedi.

Her: If that guy is a Jedi, then Yoda must have trained him way back when he was only 100 years old, because this guy is OLD!

Jude Law=51 years old
Yoda=900 years old

Yes, you've counted correctly. In my hands are SIX blank Art Appreciation final exams that should have been taken by students who didn't show up today. Only ONE student has contacted me (a family emergency)! This is not out of character for this particular class. *Sigh*

My daughter upon seeing me dressed for church this morning: "You look like Beetlejuice!"

This was my daughter and me watching the Macy's parade. Over the past month, our lives have been very disrupted due to a lot of elderly care issues with my in-laws. Life isn't normal right now. Through it all, Auggie has been a trooper! So, it was nice to just be still and enjoy something pleasant.

Not many here will know this, but I've been working on a graphic novel for a couple of years now. As a professor, my time to work on it is limited, and this semester my schedule has been WAY too full to get much done at all. Still, I wanted to share this most recent panel out-of-context. Enjoy!

If you have a creative kid like mine, I highly recommend what is, essentially, the Legos of snacks, Poppin' Cookin' candy kits. It works by mixing different powders in water to form a dough that is molded into certain forms that look like other kinds of food. www.popincookin.us/index.html

I get the feeling that the users repeated questions about elder abuse for their homework may have provoked something in the programing of Gemini. Still, this event showcases, I think, what a hazardous tool AI LLMs can be for those who are emotionally vulnerable.
Gemini AI tells the user to die — the answer appeared out of nowhere when the user asked Google's Gemini for help with his homework
Let’s be happy it doesn’t have access to nuclear weapons at the moment.
