I’ve been an IT professional for two decades. When you do pull the trigger, spend as much money on it as you can comfortably afford. Most newer laptops are not upgradable Memory and storage are soldered to the main board.

Yeah, that was some shenanigans. I got a similar error and checked my gateway speed. (It was 2GB down speed like it should be.) Shenanigans I say….

Just remember a MacBook of any flavor does not have upgradable parts. What you get when you buy it is what you’re stuck with. My advice is to spend as much as you can safely afford to.
