There are at least 3 clues to the website being Canadian government! Images and words. Not trying to fight … think of it as a gentle prod to be “woke” (aware) to the sometimes-subtle differences between our cultures - including our spelling.

So many other cultural reasons to dislike the US??!!! Food, guns in public, lack of social supports, poor education, environmental policies/ actions that affect the world, politics, …. Focussing on those reasons rather than spelling??!! 🇨🇦moving in US direction (Ont/ Alberta) sadly.

No. Sorry! CDN spelling on the CDN government website was correct. Think of it like the metric system! Different but equal. Yes, there is a noun and verb spelling but the 🇨🇦govt has chose. Our spelling choices are yet another factor that proudly differentiates 🇨🇦 culture from US. #ElbowsUp

“Our sons”???? I’ve not heard the Canadian Forces referred to in this manner. Certainly not all “sons” in the military! I think I understand your point though! Sorry - I tend to push back on language choices as a reflection of my life philosophy. Sorry!!!

Yes, me too! I had thought that we (🇨🇦) were off the radar! This makes it feel like we will now have to keep an eye on our southern border AND the ocean … while observing a Venezuelan war. Make it stop!! #ElbowsUp

Local Beer Store closed. Also new issue since moving to Ottawa = lack of space for empties (No, not heavy drinkers!!). Our single-car garage = woodworking, exercise space, storage (paddle boards, family of bikes, etc). Recycling bins/ green bins squeezed in. Stilling working on ideas!

It used to be green tea on my desk… could sip at it throughout the day - cold was as good as hot. Gradual release of caffeine into my body … like a caffeine IV. Didn’t drink coffee until Child #2 - had to keep up with ADHD husband, (undiagnosed ADHD) toddler, infant, stone house, and teaching!

Not Lego. Lego requires attention to detail, sustained focus, logical progression, and no temper tantrums that would result in pieces being thrown! Likely a 3D printed model - from a free, online pattern created by a visual-learner teen who is being left behind by an underfunded education system!

This is such a problem for my 2e son. So much info about the problems/ difficulties is presented that the existential dread is overwhelming. Please be aware of learners who have big emotions, deep thinking, struggling.

Completely agree. Since the extra day was added for federal workers, getting my kid to and from school (not neighbourhood school) …under 10 km… now consumes hours of my day. We live on the LRT stage2 … but graduation will come before the train…and Bank St bus still an issue!
