I had a professor throw a potato, a stapler, and some chalk at my head (and a few other things). I still talk to john and think we have a very mutually respective relationship.

I wish this wasn't so expensive...

It's not five books, but myself and at least 3 people I know have had the complete wraethu anthology sitting out bookshelves waiting to be read for literal decades (sorry storm constantine).

I frequently bemoan to my younger partner who has only gotten into anime in the last few years the loss of the good old days of getting most anime as fan sub (and probably on bootleg VHS via an icq chatroom or use net group).

Skogstroll or bergtroll??

The only important question here is, which anime? Maybe like, eva before the reboot? Or if you do haibane renmei you can segue into some murakami as well?

Everything after season 1 has been a hard thumbs down from this household.

As someone else who taught in norman (the city where OU is), I called this the moment the story broke. Oklahoma is disastrously and self destructively deeply conservative & there was *never* a chance that the uni wasn't going to side with the student on this. Though uofm a2 would likely do the same.

This is really the best response.

I posted this somewhere else, but I was at one point in a grad psych program at another uni in the same metropolitan area in Oklahoma. There was a lady in my program who openly argued that 'God makes the lightening' (I guess ala Zeus?) rather than an understandable scientific process.

I was in a grad psych program in Oklahoma at one point with a lady who, no shit, insisted that 'God makes the lightening' rather than some more of scientific meteorological process. I guess ala zeus? Don't underestimate the deep self inflicted conservatism and delusion of that place.

I lived in Oklahoma a long time. And taught in Norman (where OU is)...I'm not confident OU will back the prof.

Honestly, having worked with some faith based private liberal arts schools (good ones), this wouldn't fly in a psych class at most of those either (especially from a junior).

I have worked at very affluent, high achieving schools, and much more normal, first gen underprepared, and under resourced schools...the univers high achievers from affluent families/areas are far and away the ones most likely to exploit workarounds fo cheat and be disengaged...

The amount of clearly rich folks in most subreddits that would seem designed for the middle class to poor (looking at you r/firsttimehomebuyer) is pretty staggering. At least, if one were to assume the people giving rich people solutions to poor people problems are actually rich.

I forget which city, but patton oswalt was somewhere one night where light a fleet of these things had assembled themselves on a street somewhere ala waymos, but for no discernable reason.

My android 9 is more than a decade old and is just now starting to have problems. As an added benefit, lots of places are forced to give me physical membership cards and menus and shit because my phone literally won't run their apps and such.
