Are you from Belgium? I am. If I had to choose I would rather say right, not far right. You have the 'Vlaams Belang'-party (also big) on the right of him on the (Flemish) national and immigration front.

It is Trump & co who wants Greenland (get something to 'work'). But has not a lot of support for this, also not in the US. And TACO's tariffs aren't really that successful until now (for the US in general) and aren't really threatening. And keep US support for Ukraine: I doubt Greenland matters much

A lot of US citizens would support European resistance here. Few support Trump&co in buying or invading Greenland. So IMHO less harm for Europe to resist than to let Trump getting his way here. Certainly longer term.

If Trump and others didn't lay the foundation before there was nothing to flare. And if they didn't react the way they did, that flare could have been very small. So if it wasn't this, it would have something else that would bring Greenland back in the attention.

There are other ways. I don’t know what will happen, but US is more than Trump, Miller and Vance. And there are ways to get their attention. Also: they will have to do something eventually, because such bullies won’t stop otherwise.

I think the messages about this coming from the US are mixed. Trump want part of it. But doesn't want it touched if EU gives it directly to Ukraine. And now the Economist says yet something else. The US should have no say in it anyways. Maybe the should focus on the Russian assets in the US.

He was reacting here cynically to Politico (the last question came of a Politico journalist here). I find Politico (partly owned by the guys who also own Bild...) best to be ignored as much as possible. So should De Wever.

Ik vertrouw BDW ook niet 100% om dit niet aan de VS te geven. Echter het is niet omdat Trump (VS) vraagt om dat bevroren Russisch geld te Euroclear mee te 'beheren', dat ze het krijgen. Laat staan dat ze er recht op hebben. En BDW is niet de enigste in Belgie die erover beslist.

Not sure what this reference exactly means. Let me interpret it my way: hopefully more real decentralization really takes off, so we're sure a possible US bias is diminished. e.g trying to be more balanced in the Israel-Palestine conflict, like my 'waffle country' Belgium.
