Sen. Ossoff tonight announced he will oppose cloture and, if it comes to it, final passage on the partisan House budget proposal and issued the following statement —

NEWS: We polled our locals yesterday before Schumer's surrender asking what they would do to hold accountable Senate Dems who cave on the GOP bill.

67% said they'd show up at town halls or public events to express their anger.

78% said they'd support primary challenges.

We'll see where this goes.

@schumer.senate.gov is collaborating with the Trump/Musk regime.
Time for him to step down from leadership.
The American people deserve a leader who will fight for our democracy.
Vote No on cloture and the House CR bill.

Newsflash: Trump and Musk ARE destroying vital government services, while @schumer.senate.gov clutches his pearls.
We demand more.
No to cloture.
No to the house CR.
Republicans control the Senate, House, and Presidency.
Let them figure it out.
A shutdown would give Donald Trump and Elon Musk carte blanche to destroy vital government services at a significantly faster rate than they can right now.

Today I spoke with a staffer at the Atlanta office of Senator Warnock and delivered this message. Still trying to get through to @ossoff.bsky.social office. Let's keep the phone lines busy!
What could Schumer do? Here's what I'd do:

Get every Dem in front of the Capitol today and say this: "Every single one of us will vote for a clean one-month funding bill right now. What we will not do is cave to Republican threats to shut down the government unless we give a blank check to Musk."

I am writing to express my deep concern that Elon Musk has assumed control of the US Treasury payment system.

Pre-election story merits a thoughtful re-read now. The largest voting system breach in nation's history will likely never be investigated b/c of GOP control in GA, and now DOJ will bury as well.

In Georgia, the ‘Biggest Election Breach’ in History Has Gone Uninvestigated
In 2020, a group of technicians accessed government election servers and voting machines. The small town where it happened is still asking for answers.

Trump allies' theft of the GA voting system software was a key element of the Willis RICO case. A number of the defendants were directly involved in the theft, and at least 12 defendants were indirectly involved.
AG Carr has done nothing to prosecute them.
What is to happen now? 1/
The Georgia Court of Appeals has disqualified Fani Willis from prosecuting Trump and others in the Fulton County election interference case, citing an appearance of impropriety related to her relationship w/ former special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

What does that mean and what happens next? 🧵

Trump allies (apparently w/ Trump blessing) stole voting system software in key states (GA, MI, PA.) DOJ has looked the other way despite requests from experts to investigate, hold them accountable and avoid exploitation of voting system.

It's time for @saratindallghazal.bsky.social and GA Democrats to step up in support of their candidate. How many times did we hear them assert that "election contests" were the right tool to determine close elections?
This GA election contest will be interesting. If press covers it well, it’s likely to publicly expose numerous unacceptable flaws in GA’s election processes, including assigning voters to wrong districts.
This may require a new election if allegations are proven. 1/

So the House would release the Ethics report on Gaetz if he was still a Member, but since he’s been nominated to be the chief law enforcement officer for the US with control of every federal law enforcement agency, investigation, and case, they will hide the report. Makes sense.
