Interesting take but I think that it glosses over the fact that the weights can be distilled from the model output, so the only way to truly protect them is to limit access to the model. Obviously impractical for commercialization but perhaps bodes well for democratization of the technology.

I have a few questions about this. It doesn't need to take over for a full human to kill a job. If it makes 4 people 25% more efficient won't that eliminate one job?

Also you don't think it's good enough to be useful? I get a lot of value from different models

Nice write up Clem. Do you really see AI as a massive job creator though? Won't it automate out a ton of jobs indefinitely? I think we need to be talking more about the economic impact of reducing people's earning power so much.
