Certain "pretty sports" (e.g., gymnastics, figure skating) got a pass, but other than that, fair game.

I find this so amusing.

Having worked in sports for years at a high level, many Republicans leveled nothing but disdain at women in sports particularly in such sports as basketball, golf, soccer. Beyond the automatic questioning of sexuality and mocking of body types, women were too slow, too clumsy, too...anything.
