When I first saw Star Wars in 1997 with ANH:SE, I was truly fascinated by who made it and how, so this book was like my "Heir to the Empire". Published in late 1997. Yes, this is my well worn copy. It was either on my desk or night stand for many years.
I wish they'd made one of the Prequels.
So I made a New Year's resolution to read more and catch up on the back log of books I own: I thought I'd start with Star Wars, and tonight I finished "The Living Force" by John Jackson Miller. I'm a fan of his previous SW novels, along with his Trek books. In this book, Miller did a really great..

Hard to believe it has been 25 years ago since the release of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Not just one of the best animated Batman movies of all time, but in my opinion, one of the absolute best Batman movies of all time.

@benzed.bsky.social Saw this on google. Thought you'd "appreciate" how many fans don't know that Lucas did ask Kasdan to work on prequels, but he turned him down because he said he didn't care about that story or those characters. 🤦

After about a decade now, isn't it possible for Youtube critics and/or video essayists to make glowing reviews of TLJ and TFA without trashing the Star Wars prequels and George Lucas?? Shouldn't they be able to praise those movies and Abrams and Johnson on their own merits alone? Just a thought..

Opening night of "The Force Awakens" did feel like a major pop culture event. I saw it at AMC and it seemed like they and Disney/Lucasfilm had hired a third party vendor to sell merchandising to mark the occasion. I picked up this ticket and t-shirt.

@briang27.bsky.social What did you think of the Supergirl trailer? Looks like we're going to get a glimpse at Kryptonian culture and Kandor before the destruction of the planet? I remember seeing more Kryptonian culture is something you've wanted to see in past live action incarnations!

Personalized Hallmark Yoda ornament that my aunt sent me as a surprise. Definitely going to hang it on the tree tomorrow!

All this talk recently of a "remastered" version of the "original" cut of the 1977 Star Wars film reminds me of the matching box sets I have of the PT and the OT and the OT set has the 1995(I guess?) editions of the OT as bonus features.

Excited for this and I'm sure they won't have any trouble booking celebrities to host, so it feels like a no brainer.
Still not fan of Matt Vogel's performance as Kermit. His voice sounds really off. I really wish Steve Whitmire was still performing the character.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar
This really isn't that hard lol.

It's a belief that's so divorced (pun intended) from reality that even in Vice's documentary series Icons Unearthed about the making of Star Wars includes Marcia Lucas herself clarifying that this rumour is ridiculous and untrue.

Speaking of animated TV writers and Star Was, I wonder why veteran animation writer/showrunner Greg Weisman only worked on a year of "Star Wars Rebels", penned the Kanan backstory comic and then quietly left and went back to DC' Young Justice.

I don't see where having a larger writer's room/staff benefited "The Acolyte", which still had plot holes (the finale, in an attempt to try to wrap stuff up, had ones biggest enough to fly a Star Destroyer through them) 🤣

I was thrilled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future today on the big screen at @amctheatres.bsky.social
in incredible Dolby picture and sound. Scored a Time Machine popcorn bucket and anniversary cup too.

Crazy that Driver pitched another project featuring his character and it was rejected by Iger and other Disney executives. I figured Driver was one of the ones ready to move pas on Star Wars after TROS.
October 21, 2025 at 12:38 AM
It'll always be a shame to me that Iger forced him off the table as a consultant and let Abrams have full control. Even if they didn't like or use all of George's ideas, just the post-ROTJ world-building he described to Paul Duncan in the SWA99-05 book was rich enough to tell more than one trilogy..
George Lucas on whether he’s moved past Star Wars

“Disney took it over and they gave it their vision. That’s what happens. Of course I’ve moved past it. I mean, I've got a life”

I can't believe this book came out 15 years ago. I highly recommend it.

I'm not a major SW figure collector, but when this Black Series battle damaged Vader from the OWK series was just recently announced, I thought I already had it. And yeah, sure enough.. I picked it up when he was released as a Target exclusive I think two years ago.

Natalie Portman said she is glad there is a momentary peace and people are calling her a Zionist. Seriously fuck everyone she has been very vocal in support of Palestine and even refused an award from the Netanyahu govt. Yall are attacking the wrong people.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Back
to the Future by picking up Michael J. Fox’s new book about juggling making the first film and his hit sitcom “Family Ties” at the same time.
Hoping to catch a 40th anniversary screening of the first movie at the end of the month.

I know 2027 is going to be about the re-release of ANH for its 50th anniversary and the new movie Starfighter, but I hope Disney/Lucasfilm gives us a re-release of Attack of the Clones for its 25th anniversary.

I believe this is my favorite Star Wars poster by Drew Struzan. It just captures the story of Attack of the Clones so well (along with being a great homage to the poster for Doctor Zhivago)
