The morning light brings such a magical glow to the hills surrounding vast plains dotted with trees beautifully spaced between each other, Namibia is a special place for photographers lucky enough to visit. #namibia #africa #landscape #landscapephotography #travel #travelphotography #mountains

Fish River Canyon, in southern Namibia, is the second largest canyon in the world (next to Grand Canyon). The Fish River is 800 kilometers long and, thus, the longest river in Namibia.

As one drives Namibia, what enhances its beauty is its vastness and its vacancy....endless km of spectacular geology void of inhabitants. #namibia #landscapephotography #wildlifephotography #dunes #mountains #openspace #desert #mountains #sand #drivenamibia #winhoek #openspace #africa #southafrica

When in Namibia, a "must-see" is Kolmanskop. It's an abandoned diamond mine town (ghost town). Literally, a town (housing, hospital, school, administration, meeting rooms) that the desert is slowly reclaiming as sand piles up in all the deteriorating buildings. Great to see and photograph.

The Namib desert flows into the Atlantic Ocean for some 1,200 miles from South Africa up to Angola. Remote....spectacular. #namibia #travel #southafrica #nature #travelphotography #desert #photography #namibdesert #walvisbay #ocean #waves #sand #dunes #wildlifephotography#naturephotography

Near where the Erongo and Kunene Regions meet in Namibia, even small areas of sand make the most interesting patterns and contrast to the surroundings. #Namibia #landscapephotography #sand #dunes #travelphotography #photography #travel #desert #mountains #africa #remote

So, I am new to Blue Sky and it is appropriate to make my first post from my favorite country to visit and photograph - Namibia. So, my question to is, and a play-off of that famous kid's riddle "why did the Oryx cross the road?"
