This is amazing. I love the juxtaposition of aesthetics. So wild!

Love it

I do think I know what you are getting at though. Art that is intentionally obscure for no other reason than to seem like art is super boring. It is like taking a perfectly beautiful photograph, but making it all blurry and grainy to make it "artsy". Kinda lame.

I agree and disagree! I AGREE that we need art that is direct, clear and confrontational.

I also think that we need art that attempts to explore the mysteries of existence that are hard to make explicit.

I’m imagining turning it into a public educational center with ecosystem exhibits on the roof garden.

Me too! Everyone seems to love this film, and I just don't get it.

Yes, I know, but the only way to estimate their value is what people are most recently willing to pay for it. Flock is not public, so the only way I know to value them is through the most recent funding round. Palantir is public, and therefore has a more reliable value.

Where did that figure come from? Looking into it, I found that the most recent valuation for Flock is $7.5B (as of March), whereas Palantir has a current market cap of $425B (over 56x of Flock).

You probably posted this on your Discord server, but will you be live streaming this?

This isn't good at all, for the obvious reasons.

But - attacking all of the broadcast networks through license threats will just speed their inevitable demise, and push the creatives to the internet platforms.

Wish I could edit the mistakes, but it should say, "...keep track of changes, and predict what would happen..." and "...talking about the exponential growth of technology..."

When Vernor Vinge described the singularity, where exponential growth would make it harder and harder to keep and predict what would happen, I thought he was talking about the exponential growth, not the exponential decline of our culture.

Oh, OK - my confusion here has to do with the UX of BlueSky. Jamelle's post above showed up in my feed, and I did not see the context at first. By explicitly going to Jamelle's profile page, I can see this is part of an extended thread about Thomas Chatterton Williams.

I can guess who you are talking about, but who actually said this? I am assuming this is a direct quote due to the use of quotation marks?

So cute that they made the shape like a flying owl!

My erudite take on this - lol

Time to add a drum kit to the flat?
July 19, 2025 at 2:40 PM
I do not know.
July 19, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Indeed it is not. We are still here dammit!

I was feeling pessimistic about the future of humankind, and then I saw this. Now, I feel fantastic!
