Good engineers test their shit. The first time you’re in a Root Cause Analysis meeting with two layers of management and someone from Finance you learn the value of testing. But doing this while moving fast is a balancing act.

Passive resistance from engineers I suspect. They knew what this feature would reveal and released it anyway. Now they CYB as management asks pointed questions. “No, we didn’t run any tests against MAGA accounts, we had no idea this would happen!” As they delete all their test results data.

You know the engineers who worked on this feature knew what they were doing. If *I* had worked on it I would have already made my own heat maps of major accounts just out of curiosity and to test that it worked. They knew what would be revealed and did it anyway, passive resistance ftw.

Knowledge is what you get by studying. Intelligence is how well you use your knowledge. Wisdom is what you earn by screwing up with the first two.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s important to know your self worth, understand what you know. But it’s just as important to own your mistakes and learn from them, and know what you DON’T know.

I know, he was a coder originally, he knew what he was saying. He was giving permission to his engineers to take risks without fear. That’s what entrepreneurs do, take big swings. But investors want to minimize risk so the “break things” part got cut for the VCs. Or shareholders as the case may be.

“Move fast and break things” is a quote from an engineer who wanted to give permission to fellow engineers to experiment and take big swings without fear. Taking the “break things” out is a betrayal. Sorry. We still expect you to move fast, but now if you break things we’re going to fire your ass.

PTSD triggered! Never trust an engineer with a big ego. You’re going to break things, you’re going to pick the wrong architecture, you’re going to have to justify shit years later. If they still have an ego it’s because they never take responsibility for their mistakes.

“The Mamushka!!”

Such a great pinball game

Everyone knocked it out of the park with this one, from production to crew to cast it was all perfect.

I’ve been expecting The Onion to just come out and say, “Fuck it, we ARE a real news organization now!” And no one will know if it’s a joke, and it won’t mater either way.

“Common things that happen here happen over there too.”

Slow news day in science.

His worldview is based entirely on the last conversation he’s had, the last person he was trying to ingratiate himself to.

This just highlights that trumps current world view is shaped entirely by the last conversation he’s had, and changes with each conversation.

In his first term, POTUS was shocked to discover his power was limited and he wasn’t immediately beloved by the populace.

It’s going to flow from the person who pulled the trigger back up the chain. Admiral Alvin Holsey knew it. I also suspect he was tasked with planning an attack on Venezuela and wanted none of that.

And apparently he isn’t the only person to have “hung themselves” while hogtied in ice detention. 😡

My grandfather was a captain in the Navy during WWII, running supply convoys in the pacific theater. I’m almost glad he didn’t live to witness this. The murders of civilians in the gulf by the Navy would have damaged his soul.

Well, that’s 86 Democrats who may be surprised their primaries are no longer a given.

Expecting a “YES I DO” post from him any moment.

So, now they’ve perjured themselves either way.

Seems like a Beast crest type of person 😁

I mean, that would be like showing someone learning to ride a bike a video of someone riding a bike directly into a brick wall and saying “don’t do that”. It’s so blatantly bad if you NEED to show them that, they probably shouldn’t be allowed on a bike.
