I loved it because (1) it forced the players to engage with what makes their characters unique, (2) they were all active, rather than passive, in the storytelling, and (3) it annihilated preconceptions about what our future sessions might be like

It was a gamble (and probably more fun for me than the players), but I handed them all a slip of paper before the session, one of which read "you have been replaced by a doppelganger. Do your best to fit in."

And the rest of the session was them trying to figure out who was the mole

I'm reading Pessoa's letter to the guy that ran that school, and it very much seems like he had some form of executive dysfunction (he describes difficulty with task initiation, focus, et cetera)
