Did you ever watch the British film Threads?

The ultimate nuclear war horror movie. Based firmly on facts too.

(Last I checked, you can watch it on TubiTV for free. Technically, watching ads is a requirement. In reality, the ads are badly needed comic relief next to the film itself.)

I was born roughly when you were getting out of diapers.

I'd already used Usenet regularly for several years when Cantor & Siegel's Green Card Lottery spam (not to mention "MAKE MONEY FAST") came out.

And I'm surprised that even at the beginning of the 21st century people were still using Usenet.

Caveat: When it's your superior (your boss at work, or maybe someone in charge of an activity) Cc:ing their own boss, you are in deep shit.

Absolutely not. If you say that people sympathize more with "I don't get certain kinds of jokes" than with "I'm autistic" I believe you. And presumably you're not the only one.

I'm only pointing out that for many other autistics it's the opposite. So it's an interesting difference.

Interesting. Exactly the opposite has been my experience and many (not necessarily all or even most) other autistic people's experiences.

It also makes sense for one more reason: Often work toilets flush with much greater force than home toilets.

Speaking as one who was voted Most Individual and Most Controversial by majorities that would have made then President Ronald Reagan proud, and also having been a teacher myself, I can tell you that not having apparently been memorable can be a good sign.

OK thanks, Dr. Crewson!

Speaking of desperation to go home, is there any truth to the rumor that people discharged on a Friday afternoon -- let alone the afternoon before a long holiday weekend -- are more likely to die (because the relevant staff rush through the discharge preparations / instructions)?

*Perhaps*.

For more reasons than one, I would presume that medication kept around -- even months later -- would still be needed.

(And even if she'd said she didn't need them anymore, throw them out! For your own safety, don't take someone else's prescription medications -- especially painkillers!)

That's part of what I was thankful for yesterday!

Hmmmm...non-family, generally doesn't happen for me. I have two minor children and a wife who needs help managing them. Not actually impossible for me but would take quite a bit of doing + luck. #NotAloneTalk

You flatter many Americans by assuming their obtuseness is *willful*.
November 28, 2025 at 8:46 PM
OK, I'm glad you had a good time!

By the way, have you returned to Poland? How is your job hunt?

Not I, yet. Amazon is a wonderful thing. (And so is a shopping center very near my home.) #NotAloneTalk

I'm very sorry Ydrance. I hope you can access the help you need soon. #NotAloneTalk

Hi Suz, is Christmas Market a "pop up" event or a permanent store? What did you buy there? #NotAloneTalk
