It’s hard, and it doesn’t feel as good as telling that person to pound salt, but changing someone’s politics is damn near impossible, so instances like this are rare. Probably won’t change this persons outlook entirely, but to at least reject the current fascist streak is a win.

While I initially feel some anger towards people who voted for DT and now regret it, I think expressing this is counterproductive. Empathy and acceptance is how we change hearts and minds—not saying I told you so. I hope more folks take this approach.

Cowardice? By not playing an unnecessary game? Hate all you want, but playing today’s game would be the dumbest decision in the world.
