Senators probably thought with all the terribly unqualified nominees that they could vote for Rubio who is actually qualified based on experience. They had to ignore a lot of the concerning things he said in the last few years though. Some of them just don’t want to say no to everything.

Can someone explain what they think was going to happen if the Dems didn’t break? Outside of a lot of people going hungry and broke while the shutdown continues. I mean, Republicans weren’t going to break. They weren’t going to acquiesce to brining back the ACA subsidies.

And what federal law is that? That says ICE agents are allowed to wear masks? It doesn’t just mean the federal government gets to do whatever they want. There has to be an actual law.

Do you go into interviews expecting the interviewer to prove you’re not qualified? Of course not. The burden is on the applicant/nominee. What qualifications does he have? None have been presented that I’m aware of. Like most of Trump’s nominees. You’re qualified if you’re a suck up
