Or said another way - voters have become ignorant and vote for the person they like (a disrupter! I could get a beer with him!) not the issues and the job the person will do. Also any analysis of why voters preferred anyone over Hilary or Kamala that doesn’t center misogyny is half baked at best.

I don’t think it’s crazy for Dems to worry about the impact that will have on future elections. Jewish support for Dems has always been reliable and it’s not going to happen this time. Some will decide Israel can come second… but some just can’t and that’s not outrageous.

Many Jews will vote against Mamdanj- not bc he’s Muslim but bc actually in real life he does not support Israel. It’s a big deal! BDS is a red line for many. Doesn’t make them islamophobic - they are voting against someone who holds views that are dangerous to them.

If only the dem establishment was capable of a concerted effort such as this… we might not be where we are today! I don’t think they are though.

Calculus Project is excellent. Also we should be striving for a system where additional supports outside the classroom aren’t as needed. We are at the bone with these cuts and cutting OEE takes us into the bone. We need to dramatically increase revenue - both town and school side are suffocating.

I’d still like to know your definition of success for educational equity. And I think “admin” vs “student-facing” is a false dichotomy. It’s a blurry line- often admin provides supports that teachers can’t do without. There is no future in this annual cutting and paring down. We need big change.
April 2, 2025 at 1:57 PM
How would you define “effective”? What we choose to cut at this moment in history speaks to our values. Many educators value the tools, resources and support provided by the OEE and that work will not happen evenly or efficiently without it.
April 2, 2025 at 1:30 PM
It has been imperfect but waiting for the work to do itself has given us even less. We have taken a giant step backward, and made a statement that equity is not part of our mission.
April 2, 2025 at 12:57 PM
This will mean little, sadly, even if it passes, in a town which has opted to discontinue its efforts toward educational equity.

I think it was orchestrated that way with Booker ahead of time. They were joking back and forth all day about how it’s the one time Booker can refuse the floor to Schumer. Like him or not he is the ranking member for now and it makes sense for me for him to note the importance of the moment

All of what you’re listing has been debunked and disproven. Look, war is awful, and I have no doubt that the IDF hasn’t always handled itself impeccably while fighting this war. We have a much better chance of achieving peace if we stick to the facts and use language accurately.

He’s correct. We can be mad at him for other things! But Israel is not attempting genocide. We can be mad at the Israeli govt for other things too! But let’s use words accurately- that makes us more powerful. Hamas wishes to exterminate the Jewish people (genocide); Israel seeks to neutralize Hamas.

“You are telling us this is normal so we think you’re doing fine keep it up!” 😩 your job is to educate. You have access that average people don’t have, at least for the moment. The signs of impending fascism are EVERYWHERE but you don’t report it so 51% of America doesn’t know about it.

Make them negotiate with you! They need your vote!

Seriously why should we have to suffer? 8 weeks ago we had the strongest economy in the world.
March 11, 2025 at 1:10 AM
“Despite inheriting the best economy in history” needs to be the headline and lede in every single story covering this

The commercial didn’t even mention Israel or antisemitism! It was against hatred. It was funded by an anti-antisemitism org so people assume that is one of the types of hatred it opposes. The post says it figures trumpers would oppose antisemitism.
