All statin trials are rigged because Big Pharma. Only Big Supplements, cholesterol contrarians, internet influencers and miscellaneous gym-bros can be trusted, because they are the little guys fighting BP. Also, Ancel Keys.

I'm an MD and I know nurses. That is most certainly not how nurses roll. They will be professionals.

Can anyone recommend a book about the Civil War that's about the origins and politics of the war, not a battle By battle recount?

For 30 years after Reagan tried to use it as a campaign song, Springsteen refused to play the song except on an acoustic guitar so that the lyrics were clear.

ICE is the jackbooted thugs that Rush Limbaugh warned them about. I don’t understand it.

I've known more than a few people who've gone to Austin. They didn’t even last 3 years.

This is normal 80 year-old skin, especially in sun exposed areas. That's why his ear bled after the Secret Service grabbed his head and pushed him down in Butler.

I make pumpkin pie, but skip fiddling around with pastry. However, I do cook the custard.

As you age, the collagen that holds the skin layers together slowly disappears and skin becomes more fragile, especially in sun exposed areas. This is probably just normal aging exacerbated by aspirin use.

A 2 pound bag of carrots at my local Vons is $2.49 and a 2 liter bottle of Coke is $3.49 today. Healthier food isn’t necessarily more expensive — that's a myth that needs to disappear.

Drugs are not sold on the free market like soybeans.

You're conflating "conservative" with "Republican". Obviously, the parties have change substantially since 1860.

Reagan gave his speech in Philadelphia, MS and told his stories about "welfare queens" and "strapping bucks". The GOP became the party of racism after the Civil Rights Act passed.

I moved to California in January, 1976. The rich have been threatening to leave at least as long as I've lived here. They never follow through though.

I don’t want to live in Malibu, I want to live in Terre Haute — said no one ever.

They're always threatening that. They never leave though, because then they would have to live in notCalifornia.

Just to clarify; locals don’t want to do the job for sub-minimum wages without legally mandated benefits.

I understand what you want to say, but they probably get health insurance through the university.

I've always felt that line puts to rest the revisionist idea that the Civil War was really about "states' rights" rather than slavery.

This 1631 Rembrandt painting looks a lot like a modern poodle, although the clipped hindquarters look a little stockier.

My mom started feeding her dog when he was hungry. His second meal crept forward to 1:30 pm and stayed there. He was happy being fed on dog tummy time instead of human time. Subsequent dogs have also been happy with similar schedules. No pestering for food.

I just paid $48 for an asthma inhaler at the pharmacy. I was bummed because even a 400% discount would have meant nearly a $150 refund instead. At that rate, instead of one inhaler every 2 yrs, I'd need one a month. ;-)

I had only one thing that I wanted to buy and it was $40 cheaper at Costco than on Amazon. Win-win!
