Close the Dáil car park and see what progress is made. You also forgot to mention deferring the order to replace to totally clapped out 41 year old DART fleet.

And a nice run to Sligo for a 29k as the 0655 down and back up at 1105. Glad I’m not on that.

And the US wants to shut down immigration. We'll see how that works out in a couple of years.

I’d love to be able to walk or cycle out my gate straight onto a greenway. I’m lucky enough to be able to get into a forest trail after a 500m road walk but a proper greenway would be fantastic.

Unfortunately we’re stuck with things like public transport companies who don’t do updates any other way. I’d given up Twitter before I needed to start commuting by rail again here in Ireland.

Yet in general the Gardai don’t see any reason to stop these vehicles to enquire why they have no registration plate, tax, insurance or licence.

There is absolutely zero enforcement of the legislation on untaxed and uninsured light motorcycles. Deliveroo would be out of business in Dublin if there was.

Agree entirely. We need more trains and journey time reductions. Everything else is secondary.

Personally I don’t want to pay more for my ticket so a once a month passenger can get a lukewarm cup of tea and a stale sandwich.

Lack of catering is a bit of a niche problem and largely affects occasionally users. He seems to have forgotten how godawful the coffee was. Even when there was catering a flask was a much better option.

Getting people to Main Street would be tricky but it would be feasible to get to the secondary schools, main shopping centre and swimming pool with a little creativity.

And to reach a major housing estate they expect children to cross the N4 on a roundabout to access this cycle track.

This is not a model anyone wants to follow. Longford County Council have spent close to 5 years and spent 8 million euro putting in about 4km of cycle track that doesn’t even cover the town centre. As a result they have destroyed any good will towards cycling in the county.

@irishrail.bsky.social should be forced to do this automatically for all bookings.

I had to cycle to a meeting in a suburban business park today. This is far worse than the city centre. Roundabouts everywhere and literally every car breaking the speed limit. At least in the city centre at rush hour you’re mostly filtering past stopped traffic.

Wealth is more than just a dollar value.

This always struck me as an odd site for a new petrol station so close to the much busier Navan road. One wonders how it turns a profit anyway given they are exceptionally cheap for fuel and have no attached convenience store.

Three hours at morning rush hour to put in ‘alternative signalling arrangements’. Any chance anybody is responsible? And the evening down trains will most likely be 30 minutes late because the line speed has decreased to the point where the evening timetable is impossible with earlier delays.

How hard would it have been to charge people based on the number of zones their trip traversed? So a trip entirely within zone 4 costs the same as a trip entirely within zone 1.

But true full self driving is just six months away. Just like since the Model S launched.

This isn’t just about the west. There are still significant numbers without power in the north midlands. Which has been repeatedly hit with power cuts over the last few years. Serious questions need to be asked about grid stability in the northern half of the country.
