Some personal news. Tomorrow is my last day at Votebeat. I will miss it here so much. I also can't wait to tell you soon where I'm going next.
Hi everyone. It’s Jen Fifield. I have a different type of news to report today — some personal news.

My last day at Votebeat is Friday. That makes this my last newsletter. Votebeat will continue to cover Arizona, and this newsletter will continue after a brief hiatus, but with a new byline.

It has been an honor to do this job and to build relationships with all of you throughout the state. I will miss it.

... As for what’s next for me, I’m on to an exciting new opportunity. I’ll post more details on my Substack and social media soon. I hope you’ll stay in touch, and also continue to follow Votebeat’s important work.

The vote to send a letter to the Justice Department came a day after a judge rejected Crosby’s request to postpone a Sept. 22 hearing for setting his trial date. The judge decided that the hearing will proceed.

Amazing photo of the Cougar Shadow on the Superstition Mountains taken by Jack Olson, an Apache Junction resident. He took this photo Sunday, September 14 at 6:24 p.m. The shadow can be seen on certain days, twice a year in March and September. Shared with his permission.
