Honestly? I thought they'd be eliminated last week, even though Kittle was out early. If they can do that, they can do this!
(And, bravado aside, I'm ready for 💔)

I'm up in PDX, so can't get the Warriors game free. So, watching Niners highlights, NE/LAC (not rooting for either the Pats or anything LA, but it's football) occasional dips into Golden globes Whee!

Texted my son "Yay! Win! But Seattle next week, without Kittle, so they've got another chance to 💔." Him: "we got to send Philly home so mission accomplished this year as far as I’m concerned"
(He also said he'd already trashed talked his Philly cousins. Love that (grown) kid!)

Wait! Wait! Didn't she just say that the ballroom his top priority?!?

Finish an almost-done knitting WIP (silly safety eye attachment tool!) for my granddaughter. Start a temperature scarf in PDX. (Could be interesting. Could be boring.)
And maybe, just MAYbe? Knit a sweater for myself.

Back in the day, I used to tell my students, "Do NOT turn in your first draft as your final paper!"

How can you be so un-curious about your own health?!?

Indeed.

I am so proud of my Oregonian Senators Merkley and Wyden!
October 22, 2025 at 4:58 AM
So, so happy that you're my senator!
Thank you for the work you're doing.

Makes my heart hurt. 🥲

Oregon, for that matter!
October 8, 2025 at 8:07 PM
Oregon, too!

Something good that's happened this week? You're writing again!

I scored two small victories in his class. He wore suits, with vests. One day, I asked if a friend made the vest he was wearing. "Yes. How could you tell?" "A woman made it. The buttons and button holes are on the wrong side for a man."
And I corrected his pronunciation of "Nez Pierce".

Mr. Sullivan, junior year, Leland High School. He made us read source documents like the Emancipation Proclamation (made my mother furious that he wasn't teaching "Lincoln freed the slaves"). He was stern. No nonsense. Eye-opening. Utterly intimidating. Difficult to please. Wonderful!

I love the feel of natural fibers! And I just ordered a pile of KnitPicks DK acrylic to make washable toys for my soon-to-be granddaughter. Son and DiL will have enough on their hands! They don't need to be handwashing stuffed bunnies and bears.

Whilst a kid, I was told, "If that's what you think, you have another think coming!" (I'm older than you, fwiw.)

Gotcha, sistah!
And they're so, so, SO confident!
Guy once told me I was missing new research from Jen Clodius on the (pre web) idea that communities of interest were forming on the internet.
Hello, alt.req.quilting?
And then he told me I was mispronouncing Clodius. 🙄

My dad was (unbeknownst to my sister and me (maybe 8 and 10 years old?)) building a Heath kit stereo in the basement. When he finished, the Sound of Music soundtrack was the first thing he played.
We were astonished! Our dad was so talented!
AND Sound of Music!
