It's a 2025 planner kind of day... About as fun as it sounds, but needs must if I'm going to have a better year.
I did so much non-public art business work last year, that my art making, selling, etc. really took a backseat in 2024, and I can't let that happen this year. Balance required.

I'm rearranging my studio, music loud. “The Way We Act” on Sugar’s Copper Blue, is one of the best song openings ever. And with a different distortion, it would also be so fucking metal. Copper Blue remains one of my desert island albums.

A weird bad day…
Burned off a chunk of my fringe tending the incinerator. Spilled a bucket of water indoors. Big power cut w/ crazy voltage issues. My ADHD meds are possibly not gonna be in tomorrow (GP closed Fri-Mon because Jesuster) so I will run out during paid/filmed demo work unless I ration.😑

Finally decided to try using Bluesky on my desktop because I am so tired of staring at my phone for pretty much everything work-related. I get that mobile is the new norm for so much but that weariness makes me not want to use newer apps at all. So here I am on my big browser. My neck is happier. ☺️

My art storage room had become a chaotic dump, so I stripped out everything, rebuilt my tension rack (heavy duty for clothes) & now things are tidy. Here is the tension rack, in case you might need a similar, non-permanent solution.
I’ll try to get a blog post together with more info on it all. 😊

How do printers just know when to malfunction? Spent 1.5 hrs stripping down the multifunction laser printer. It needed the maintenance, but turns out it was a duff new toner cartridge. But they fucking know, man. Orders to process? How about horizontal stripes. Thanks, jerk. 😅

Working on the final tasks of my web shop build and Squarespace gives me an option to add “local pickup”… Would be handy for local people, but eww to people coming to my house. They should have to pay double shipping for that. And bring me wine. 😂

Bought this book for myself and it’s amazing. Makes me want to dig out all the half-finished writing+illustrating projects I’ve abandoned over the years. I’ve always made books… one day I will have something published. All part of my bigger goals…

I’ll still be working through the holidays because I’m as indifferent as can be about Xmas et al, but I’ll finish 2023 with a couple of big projects launched. Feels good. (As long as no germy bugger gives me a virus first. Stay away from my cave, everyone, I got work to do. 😂)

Just wrapped my last “biz accountability” meeting of 2023 with a couple of amazing artist/teacher friends, and overall feeling positive about how my year is ending. I mean, most of my good stuff has happened in Q4, but I’m taking the win from a hard year. 🕺🏻🥳
