So by all means be angry at Trump's response to Bishop Budde. But don't be surprised that so many Christians are angry at her too. Because they don't want to follow Jesus. They want Jesus to follow them and whisper, "You're doing fine. You don't need to change. I have the same enemies you do."

The vast majority of people go to church to be assured they're good people who are part of a mostly good enough system.
