Ok, Cursor. Whatever you say. Yes, I am 30. 😂

And yes, I was using Cursor to figure out what json.loads does because it was not behaving as I was expecting (or my input was garbage, more like it).

When I started writing this post, I did a search for "RAG is dead" and found 5+ pages of results with that title.

So I set out to figure out why so many people were writing about it or if it's just click bait. Spoiler alert: it is. And RAG is not dead, but evolving.

I’m reading Careless People and at the end of every chapter (every paragraph?!), I’m like “WTF?!? WTAF? Who are these people? WTF.”

Thursday is @opensourcenorth.bsky.social and @hakanson.bsky.social and I are ready for a conversation with you.

We're co-presenting about how #genAI can facilitate meaningful conversations with your #architecture to gain insights, make decisions, generate diagrams, and code.

🔍🤖 Wondering why your AI agent might need hybrid search?

Traditional search forces you to choose between semantic understanding (semantic search) and keyword matching (lexical search). Each has it's strengths ⤵️

When prototyping a new feature or working with a new API, you want to get up and running and iterate quickly. The new Pinecone MCP server enables you to do just that — search the official Pinecone docs, create and manage indexes, and generate test data in your IDE.

Last week, I joined Pinecone.io as a Staff Developer Advocate! I'm excited to join the team making AI more knowledgeable and can't wait to meet Pinecone users and learn how you're using vector databases and vector search in your work.

And look at this cute welcome plant they sent me?!

If you’re open to Minnesota based designers, I probably have a couple from @minnestar.org stuff I can recommend.

Made two batches of Christmas Crack, two different batches of chex mix, and a batch of pretzel rolos today. Didn’t have the energy for cookies but maybe that’s for the best.

Got to catch up with my friends at Hashicorp at #reInvent yesterday. And maybe we recorded a couple little fun conversations for y'all 🤫
December 5, 2024 at 8:23 PM
Spent Tuesday @ #reInvent with some amazing and inspiring people chatting about non-traditional paths into tech, how to ask for help, how models will change how developers work, who can be a developer, how they can be prepared for this next wave of gen Al, and models built for specific purposes.

As I head to Las Vegas for re:Invent this week, I'm thinking about past trips and connections I've made there. This is my fifth #reInvent and my absolute favorite part is always the hallway track where I get to meet the community (YOU!).

If you'll be around re:Invent this week, please say hello 👋

Bought nothing at the MCAD Art Fair this morning but I did learn a bunch about Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec while wandering through @artsmia.bsky.social. Here’s my favorite from the day.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Ever looked at an architecture diagram and it prompted more questions than it answered?

Join my colleagues and me TWO weeks from today at AWS re:Invent to learn how we're using generative AI to understand, interact with, and generate architecture diagrams.
