Unsolicited Movie Review: Clown in a Cornfield
Junky B-movie stuff that's slightly inventive. Makes digs @ GenX, Xennials & Millennials & kinda wants to be Terrifier, but isn’t as cool & it grew tiresome.
Reddit says cornfields are full of spiders & bugs.
4.5/10 could have been worse for what it is

Unsolicited Movie Review: Predator - Killer of Killers
Animated sci-fi, so it’s like Love Death + Robots… but Predator.
Once I realized that, it was pretty all right with serious Animatrix vibes.
Went in cold & wasn’t sold @ first but grew to like & now I'm all in for more.
8.5/10, after credits

Unsolicited Movie Review: Sinners
Beautiful & stunning. Deliberative in narrative & 100% on point for the time period., but also superb with that contemporary vein.
Absolutely nails every facet of being a movie & is probably one of the better films I’ve seen in a long time.
10/10

Unsolicited Alcohol Review: Jinro strawberry soju
Did you drink Bartles & Jaymes in high school/college? Do you want to relive those memories with a kick?
I didn't know they'd flavored this shit until now. Drink it neat & then wonder why you were dumb & only bought one bottle.

Unsolicited Documentary Review: Pee-wee as Himself
Having grown up with him as an ever-present personality from Saturday mornings to beyond, this really hit home. It's one of the most heartfelt, earnest & real docs I've ever seen.
Human, poignant & well-rounded.
10/10, would watch again

Unsolicited Movie Review: In a Violent Nature
Uniquely directed with fresh camera work that’s pretty great. A truly innovative perspective that nails the Friday the 13th antagonist POV.
2D characters from an I-don’t-care story, but I kept watching, anyway.
7/10 there was blood & good gore.

Unsolicited Movie Review: The Ugly Stepsister
Methodic, exquisite, sublime body-horror that's just revolting enough.
Riveting & nicely-paced; kinda brutal but also imaginative.
Not sure why this being a foreign-language film makes it even better, but it does.
8.5/10, nods to the original tale

Unsolicited Movie Review: Final Destination Bloodlines
Ultra-decent blood splatters & splats. Cool storyline that fits with the rest of the franchise but CGI takes away from would-be-awesome scenes. Overall, an all right death movie, but not ground breaking or anything.
7.5/10, RIP Tony Todd

Unsolicited Movie Review: Summer of 69
High school senior hires a stripper to help her land the guy she likes. Adorkable & cute story about self-discovery & female bonding. Paula Pell as Betty was Fucking hilarious. Slightly predictable feel-good ending; felt more indie & less made-for-hulu. 7/10

Unsolicited Movie Review: Kryptic
Slow, odd, semi-absurdist film that’s also a semi-interesting drag. It's proto-retro, catering to GenZ artistic styles with a wanna-be horror psychedelic-aesthetic. It has a vague nu-feminist message that gets mired in a drawn out narrative & I did not like it.
3/10

Unsolicited Move Review: Freaky Tales
Series of interwoven stories set in 1987 Oakland, California. Internet consensus = "vibrantly well-acted" & I agree 100%.
Tales from the Crypt vibes with some great music, fun cameos + sci-fi-esque-ness/action gore thrown in for good measure.
8/10, original AF

Unsolicited Movie Review: Havoc
Cop/Gang/Drug movie with a Gotham aesthetic.
Much love for Tom Hardy & Timothy Olyphant but the film Just. Kept. Going.
Decent-enough fights; killer club scene music. Super forgettable overall, though...
4/10, Guy Ritchie would have saved this film.

Unsolicited Movie Review: In the Lost Lands
Bad movie w/ Sin City cum Priest visuals, based on a George RR Martin story.
Jovovich & Bautista are who they are; editing = video game cutscenes. Not sure who this soap opera film was made for? Save yourself & flee.
2/10, I watched the whole thing, why?

Unsolicited Movie Review: Mickey 17
More somber & far less comedic than I thought it'd be. Gave me gloomy ‘Idiocracy in Space’ vibes & I got bored after about an hour. Pattinson is fine but the film is slow & cloning has been addressed more thoroughly in better films or books. Nothing fun here.
5/10

Unsolicited Movie Review: No Man’s Land
Neat 30 min. fan film - someone called it “Sisu vs Aliens,” LoL.
Solid storyline, fun Easter eggs. Literally a Fan Film, so YMMV. Would rather watch this 20 times over than be forced to sit through Prometheus or Covenant ever again.
6/10, A for Aliens Effort

Beer Review: Baphomet from Revolution Brewing
Bock @ 6.66%
Beautiful can art with a black top. Malty-malty bock that's maybe sweeter than it should be, so not a 10. Revolution can sometimes be just okay but this is damn special & worth it. Wish I'd grabbed more from Chicago...
9/10, Hail Satan

Beer Review: Jhator from Nightmare Brewing
Tibetan Rice Saison Ale brewed w/ Apricot, Jasmine, Juniper & Himalayan Rice @ 6.1%
Masterful fucking beer, full-bodied, full-flavored with ALL the apricot. Nightmare always has the sickest art, too; drinks heavier than stated ABV, worth the $.

Unsolicited Movie Review: Love Hurts
Predictable, & unimaginative with some fairly decent fight scenes. They didn't reinvent anything & while it’s nice Ke Huy Quan is doing more, this wasn't memorable. Watch only if you need ANY action film w/ with good production values.
3/10 Goonies never say die

Unsolicited Movie Review: Companion
Semi-predictable but also innovative enough, it kept me engaged. Evenly-paced & a decent watch.
I’ll likely forget I saw this in a few months but also, I didn’t hate it. Idk, it's hard to find good movies since everything is Content. Just kinda all right. 6.5/10

Unsolicited Movie Review: Love Me
Strong, beautiful, interesting beginning… then they got to the shitty-bullshit Insta-YouTube part & I quit. Made it 15 min in. Fast forwarded & it doesn’t seem like I missed anything.

Unsolicited Movie Review: The Gorge
Interesting sci-fi, has something for everyone… serious Resident Evil/Silent Hill/Annihilation vibes.
Has a good start, finishes predictably - good actors; okay creatures. Overall a decent streaming movie. (Probably would've been an okay-ish theater movie.) 7/10

Unsolicited Movie Review: Dear Kelly
Documentary about how one person spirals down the hole of political conspiracy theories. Asks good questions but can’t really answer them - still a meaningful look @ trying to understand the crazy side. Pretty genuine & worth a look.
6/10, an effort was made.
