I’m trying to do edits on a graphic novel script I finished years ago, and I just can’t get back into the mindset that it’s a work in progress. I archived it in the “done” section of my brain, and now it won’t be recategorized.

HIGHLY recommend the Art of Manga exhibit at the de Young. The art is gorgeous, of course, and the audio tour is excellent. It was a lot of fun. www.famsf.org/exhibitions/...

Also, the expectation that comics be printed on bright white, shiny paper is another barrier to entry. I miss black and white comics printed on 50# uncoated offset paper.

The expectation in the U.S. that comics be in color raises the barrier to entry for creators and also has been to the detriment of artists’ cultivation of black-and-white comics art technique.
