oh my god, yes this. I clearly remember being dragged to see Avatar (2009) over and over again, in 3d, and loathing it because it rejected this so it could do more 3d shit.

The subjects were long time contributors to mature projects. They self-selected issues to work on, and they used tools of their choice. It looks like they worked as normal. Cursor was provided but not required to give everyone a baseline, and to eliminate cost to the participants.

That seems to be a little bit complicated. I read it in English, which certainly colors my perspective. He was writing them at a time when novels were generally considered to be a medium for children. Sort of like animation was until recently.
