Thank you for your comment. I agree with you when we view the way history shows us the weakness in our spirit when we have gone to war against our neighbours so many times in the name of God. My God weeps.

Even those of us who love the Gospel can turn our backs to it when it doesn’t affirm our actions. We can be so selfish and self-serving and the antidote is to just love( not necessarily like) everyone and to reflect on our daily actions.I know because Zi am guilty of such behaviour.

I am a senior, I don’t recognize the image of AI, but the message of the Gospel was clear. Perhaps my Granddaughter will show me the path.

Jesus driving out the buyers and sellers from the synagogue. The gospel lives in this man’s heart. May God bless him and his church with strength, wisdom and courage.

Mr Trump says whatever comes to mind because he is never held to account for his outright lying. His supporters don’t care or they don ‘t know.

God save Ukraine. The aggressor is murdering little ones in their beds. Who can stop that dreadful nightmare?

Thank you, Father. I thank God for the beautiful souls who sustain my Faith. I thank God for your posts, Father Martin and for your work for God’s people.

I am sorry if I raised this in your mind today. Free choice in our actions is another element in choosing right from wrong. Let go 0f our convo and have a pleasant evening. Again, I apologize.

I hear you. We are all such frail vessels, but I am grateful that our God is loving and merciful.
November 24, 2025 at 9:21 PM
I understand. Confession is meant to be merciful and compassionate, but a lot of the actions of the Confessor is counsel. I am counselled each time of receiving the sacrament. I try to follow through, but am not always successful. I must try again as does each one who comes to God for forgiveness.

Oops, did not finish the sentence :that some, like all of us, are human ,and will commit their sins again.
November 24, 2025 at 5:57 PM
I agree with mandatory. I am an old Catholic and have witnessed the peace some receive from confession. I have seen those who took counsel from the Confessor and made restitution. I do not disagree

Now this is truly a clever strategy. Well done.

Yes, separation of church and state is important to government of all the people. Most religions have suffered persecution under religious nationalism. Reparation is necessary for forgiveness, reconciliation, this is discussed in the confessional.

Why do we even give any credence to a literal political ignoramus?

It has to do with the seal of confession .

At the heart is their love of people and their work to lift the burdens from the shoulders of the people. God grant them peace and strength.

Touché.

As for me, Jesus came to make all things new. What did he say about the topic? God made each of us in his own image. God bless all his people.
