Anyway, I think it is a beautiful book. I'm still full of postpartum hormones so I was a weeping mess reading it. But would recommend!

(Obvs the newborn can't talk yet but I'll be talking with the baby about this in a few years!)

It's a melancholy story but a good one to talk to anyone - because children's books *are* for everyone - about judging others, and kindness, and notions of beauty.

Without "spoiling" the plot, at the heart of The Big Ugly Monster and the Little Stone Rabbit is a story about loneliness and navigating this through an inanimate object.

Reading this classic to the newborn tonight 🐻 🎩
