motherfuckers why did it take the STAR WARS EXPANSION for just a completely good mid sized expansion, with fun new rewards (grr), good writing and lore building, making the world feel alive, fun to play..

I like Renegades. It's not going to get all the players back. However it's a sign that modern Bungie can infact, make good games and stories still.

like i should stress, renegades was my favourite destiny experience since final shape. My only 'too star wars' is the Aunor/Bael cutscene (and the praxic blade); but there's concepts and ideas from plot to characters to weapons that shouldn't have needed star wars to do.

ultimately though, i do think bungie should have just.. not made more destiny 2 post final shape and instead worked on either D3 or Marathon, and had a support studio work at bringing D1 to PC and bringing back vaulted D2 content

I wish you didn't do so much lawless frontier stuff before you er, did lawless frontier. You could carve some more missions out from the spaces.

my renegades review is;

When it's too star wars-y, it;s too star warsy. However, this has been probably one of the best Destiny stories they've made too. Characters are characters, there's consequences and world input..

i fucking hate this is the star wars expansion because it's so good and i'm so mad it's taken them so long to do so much cool stuf.

@ point 2, something I feel more capable talking on: it requires you to say 'this portion of our fans has to get fucked. no enjoyment for them', combined with 'are our players going to be happy with doing very little in the event' (probably not) and 'server splits?'

Metaphor; 9/10:

This is the best Atlus game. What a wonderful journey that somehow brought new fantasy ideas to me. It has a few tropey choices, and weirdly, with no romance options you avoid some discomfort. Strong characters, strong villain, though I wish there was.. more to him.
