Maybe but saying you’ll be tough on crime isn’t going to overcome the GOP narrative that Democrats are soft on crime. Harris was a career prosecutor, which did her no favors. NYPD has an annual budget of $5.8bn and everyone who doesn’t live there thinks it’s a crime hellhole.
