Jeorge the Dodo Bird
@jeorgethedodo.bsky.social
I'm the last of the dodo birds. I love long walks on the beach only because I can't fly over them. And yes, I always watch out for seagulls overhead. You should too.
Me: I think it's time to clean the chimney.
Doug: Why?
Me: Well, you know...for Santa?
Doug: Jeorge, that chimney leads straight to the furnace...
ME: WHAT? WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?

Me: I want to sing "Angels We Have Heard on High" at our Christmas show.
Doug: Uh...isn't that the one that holds out "Gloria" for like five minutes without a breath?
Me: Well, I think that's a BIT of an exaggeration. Besides, you don't have to worry about it - I'll be the one singing it.
Doug: 😬

This is such a beautiful word. Our Bibles translate it as "hospitality" but it really means "Loving the Stranger."

In honor of Tom Lehrer, someone suggested a ventriloquist singing "The Elements." If not for the fact that Doug can't say "protactinium," we can make it all the way to "thorium and thulium and thalium" at 98 BPM. We might keep working on it...

A Phoenix? No. A seagull covered in curry. A long, slow cook for such a tough bird. 😁

Why does Doug always get top billing? I'm the one they all come to see!

I'd rather have fish, and I don't care what color they are - as long as they're not raw and wriggling.

This is not accurate. Seagulls don't steal fries from the pier. They take them RIGHT OFF YOUR PLATE.

But I'm not bitter...
