An IT guy trying to grow a garden 🍅
It’s when things are freezing you start feeling gratitude to the baddies who can endure. Cabbage, salads, chards and of cause the leeks. 🌱 #gardening

Frost is here. While only for a night or two, it’s probably last call for the calendulas and boragos 🥶🌼🌱

It’s hard to see that this is a patch of leeks. But for Denmark it’s just so nice to have some colours in the middle of october 🌱 #gardening

In Denmark thistles are mostly considered an annoying weed. But look at that nice pale purple colour mixing with the other wild flowers, providing a helipad for our buzzing friends 🙂

Peak heatwave. Managed to lower temperature i greenhouse by 10C in 15min by pouring water over it and let it evaporate.
Rinse and repeat! (Well you don’t have to rinse, that’s kind of the process)

Sun beetle in the marigold.
I don’t know if it’s actually called a sun beetle, that’s the danish name.
Marigolds are called Lady Morning, which is also a fitting name for them 🙂

#compost up and running. Heating up to target in 30 hours.
I do alternating layers of long grass, freshly scythed, and the materials from the first bin in my compost system. This is mostly chicken manure, wood shavings and kitchen scraps.

The near slug free raised bed doing great! Last year I almost got no turnips, and now they are a green wall in the middle of the bed. The leaves seems to be so irresistible that they kind of protect surrounding plants be sacrificing themselves.
