I used to talk about anime, now I just talk to myself

Graduate student 🎓🤓
Post plays too soft inside, the missed layup when he tried to finish with his left off the glass instead of going hard at the rim against a smaller Paul George was rough to watch

Post looked incredibly non-physical in the post offensively. Getting denied by much smaller defenders

He is excellent for 25 minutes a game and then has 5 plays where you have no idea what he was thinking

I live in Alameda and have never heard of The Experience Share, will have to swing by there soon!

Neva! Second half of this game really shines. Wasn’t in love with the first 2 chapters but the back half adds some refreshing complexity to the gameplay and visually it ascends from good to great. Ends incredibly strong, great little 2D action platformer with a lot of heart!

No Case Should Remain Unsolved bsky.app/profile/jere...
Played No Case Should Remain Unsolved and was genuinely blown away by this little game. Inventive gameplay mechanic where you are reorganizing memories from a decade old cold case to finally find closure for a missing girl and the detective that mourns her. Ending had me in tears. Only two hours!

All In focuses on the resistance group but they are introduced at the end of Round 5 when they save the pink hair girl from being killed! And Round 4 is the one that got skipped I believe it goes R1 > R2 > R3 > R5

but also whichever ep has Black Sorrow bc that was a banger

I'd have to say Round 5 or All-In. I liked Round 1 but then 2 and 3 were more of the same structure-wise and i was a little worried, but then the end of round 5 introduces the resistance group which is exciting and All-In is a masterclass in efficient storytelling with how much they communicate

Yeah that kicked ass

Sounds really neat I'll have to check it out tn

I did not like Mouthwashing at all. I understand that a lot of its magic comes from how the "key event" in that story is communicated to the player so perhaps being spoiled on it going in affected my enjoyment of the storytelling. Also not scary, atmosphere didn't click for me

Unreal art tho, game looks awesome for it's entire run. I've never seen any game use that glitchy, distorted effect that Mouthwashing uses in the medbay to hide *redacted*. So cool

Alan Wake 2 DLC bsky.app/profile/jere...
I also played the Alan Wake 2 DLC’s last week! Preferred Nights Spring’s episodic chapters to the Lake House’s extended side story but overall enjoyed both. Number One Fan was my favorite Night Springs episode, a super silly 90 minute sequence where you play out someone’s self-insert fan-fiction

Pickled up Balatro and yeah that game is crack. Reminds me of League of Legends in that an hour long run feels like 10 minutes. Completely demands your attention. Minor gripe would be once you get that first rng god run you kind of just accept that you might never get there again

Sat down last night and played all of Grunn in one sitting. Really fun little puzzle box of a game where your progression relies on your understanding of the environment. Apparently this genre is called "Metroidbrainia"?

Starstruck Hands of Time

Included a screenshot of my backloggd entry bc I couldn't fit in word count. Guitar Hero and Katamari lovechild with a wild story. Most criminally underplayed game of the year (only 110 steam reviews!)

Metaphor ReFantazio bsky.app/profile/jere...
Finished Metaphor ReFantazio a few weeks ago. The new turn based system was strong and a refreshing change of pace considering P3R came out earlier this year. Unfortunately I found the characters dull and the story pretty uninteresting. Louis’s English VA was a highlight
