I was reading (again) about how one of the current generations will be the first in US history to not exceed the living standard of their parents. And I thought, "is that a bad thing?" If living standard means bigger house and bigger car and more more more stuff, then it has to end somewhere.

Our cat is at the age she will start costing us money. She is having trouble peeing, so that's a $250 test to see why, and then if that doesn't answer it, a $350 blood work panel, and then... <sigh>
