Such a pluralist endeavor, which complements classic work on emotions in International Relations by shedding light on often overlooked actors and processes, considers that the entire chain of processes involved in terrorism is one of emotional engagement, polarization, and contagion.

The chapter embraces a multidisciplinary approach, weaving together several theories and conceptualizations of emotions; connects them with key explanations such as (inter)group identity, radicalization pathways, ideology, and propaganda; and offers illustrations from multiple empirical cases.

Our chapter on "Emotions in Terrorism and Political Violence", co-written with Stéphane Baele, is now out with @oxfordunipress.bsky.social! In this chapter, we ask why people engage in extreme forms of political violence such as terrorism.

I am extremely happy to announce that I have just signed a book contract with Routledge! The book will be based on my PhD dissertation and is provisionally titled "Israel, the United States, and the Antagonistic Identification of Iran". Stay tuned!

Je montre que cette perception de l’Iran comme ennemi irrationnel et barbare n’est pas une évidence objective, mais le fruit d’une construction discursive performative – qui enferme Israël dans une logique binaire : détruire ou être détruit.

Ce narratif permet à Israël de justifier ses actions militaires régionales, notamment à Gaza, au Liban et en Syrie, mais aussi de mobiliser le soutien international (notamment américain) et de détourner l’attention de la question palestinienne.

Très heureux de voir paraître ce papier dans @lerubicon.bsky.social . L’article montre comment Israël construit l’Iran comme une menace existentielle à travers un discours politique et stratégique qui s’est développé depuis les années 1990.
