The Making Software newsletter is beautiful and brilliant. Now I understand how the SVG fill-rule works!

Crossed the 50-hour mark working on @blueridgeruby.com this week. I've targeted 10 hours a week working on the conference until the last week, where I'll probably take off completely and work full time finalizing everything.

Has anyone else debounced job enqueuing like this before? Any issues with this?

I had this weird situation where:

1. A controller action needed to enqueue an expensive background job for a resource
2. The action could be called quite frequently within a short time window

It's not *officially* sanctioned, but I made a social icon SVG for @rubyevents.org to go on the @blueridgeruby.com footer. Kinda satisfying. 😌

Cool, people are already adding themselves as attendees for Blue Ridge on RubyEvents.org!

Feels weird opening up Chrome DevTools to a notice that I've earned a badge. I can enjoy badges in apps where I understand it's gamified (e.g. Duolingo) or where I'm hoping to reach a goal (e.g. Transistor for podcasting milestones)…but DevTools? Like please, I'm trying to work.

Ok, that's pretty fun. Also, I *wish* I had eyebrows that thick. 🥲

I added driver options to disable autofill, and that seemed to take care of the issue.

When I'm working with a UI element that may or may not be a link, instead of using link_to_if, I usually prefer to create a wrapper method that accepts a block and handle the conditional check there.

Huh, interesting...I wonder if/where this might apply outside visual art?

I'm looking forward to XO Ruby in Atlanta this weekend! I'll be coming down Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday, and looking to hang out with folks. Will I see anyone there?

Happy to see a new issue of One Ruby Question from @bhumi1102.bsky.social this week! And I appreciated this from the postscript: "Understanding the system is the edge."

I've been working on a speculative workflow library, built on a draft Batches feature for SolidQueue. 😅 I've been low-key obsessed with workflows lately, can't seem to help myself. Here's what the workflow interface looks like currently.

And if you're on the way, let me know and maybe we can roadtrip! ☺️
