Captured this with Mildred (Leica M11-D) & Light Lens Lab 50mm f/1.2 “1966” at Lonsdale Quay. I do love that wood-slat bench with a lone person taking just it all in. I have taken this photo many times before, but the light was particularly great that day!

This is a photo from some wandering I did the other day before I hit up the gym. It's the underside of a shade umbrella at Raglan’s Bistro in Lower Lonsdale.
Mildred (the Leica M11-D) & Light Lens Lab 50mm f/1.2 “1966”. I can’t walk past patterns and chaos without making some hardcore Bokah P&#n

Big red cranes, moody skies, and a ship stacked to the sky. The Port of Vancouver being just awesome, as seen from the SeaBus.

Tried testing the high ISO capability of the Leica M Monochrom typ246 downtown last night, but everything was so bright that I only hit ISO 1250. Funny, back in the film days, 1600 was chaos, and early digital barely handled 800. Now, I just leave ISO on auto and call it a day.

Here are a couple of fun Polaroids from today's photo wander with the new (to me, at least) Polaroid I2 Camera.

I am going to start a photo collection called "Window Shopping" that consists of photos that I have taken through shop windows, mostly at night or when the business is closed.

While clean lines and perspective can be fun, I also LOVE CHAOS!

A broken blue fence.

While I love a grundy, beat-up alley, I do also love clean lines and perspective.

One of my favourite alley shots that I have taken in a long while.

I have this great new addition to the Hasselblad… it is an automatic winder. Now the mirror gets reset and the shutter gets cocked automatically after I take a photo. It sounds so amazing.

Just a fence and some forgotten bits tucked behind it. The Hasselblad 503CXI and the CFV100C digital back were along for the wander, capturing some quiet, overlooked moments.

A few weeks ago, it snowed. And, like a responsible adult, I immediately... did nothing about it. Three days later, I finally got out to "play" in it—which for me means wandering around with a camera, documenting miserable people trudging through the slush.

I mean, it is still kinda mean, but it is nicer than the alternative. (:

A lovely Alley Scene.

Things like this are half the reason I wander back alleys and streets of Vancouver. I love these small moments that are just waiting for me to find them.

I am thinking about gathering photos like these that I have been taking for years. I would call the collection Smoke Break. It would consist of all the random chairs, stools, etc. that exist in the alleys that are the 15-minute break haven of the working folk.
