R-Universe by @rOpenSci is an extremely useful project.

My latest R package, {pmtiles}, is not a good fit for CRAN as it bundles a pre-compiled Go library.

With R-Universe, I was able to get installable cross-platform binaries built in hours!

Super excited for the new release of #rstats V8 which now also works in WebR by running js/wasm natively in web worker (thanks to @gws.phd). Will release some cool new packages soon to show the potential of WASM in R ✨

In the recent npm supply chain attack, DuckDB's Node.js and Wasm packages were compromised with malware. We have investigated the issue, deprecated the affected packages and released new versions.

We have released a security advisory that contains our full postmortem: github.com/duckdb/duckd...

It comes down to: tools::toHTML(tools:::.build_news_db('urltools'))

Indeed, and to get the plain text version add .txt to that endpoint

R-universe now also builds and checks binaries for ARM64-linux (both R-release and R-devel). To install Linux binaries, see our docs: docs.r-universe.dev/install/bina...

Clicking on the check summary opens the results table (which is getting pretty large) and shows status+timings for each platform.

What is a good app on Android for "live caption" (auto translate) from spoken Spanish? I think google translate does only short recordings, not ongoing conversation ?

Do you have an estimate how much percent extra disk space we need to support ARM? I.e. what is the relative size of those 4.5k compiled packages from the total space?

Another day, another release of the #rstats curl bindings on CRAN. This version should hopefully be the last update for a while (just like the one from a few weeks ago 😅) jeroen.r-universe.dev/curl
