I think this issue will go the way of the Filibuster, although
in reverse. When the Democrats are in control they want to do away with the filibuster, when they aren’t they swear by the need for it.

Then they should resign. If they really feel unable to do the job their constituents sent them there to do due to threats from above, resign. Otherwise just admit that you’re OK with it as long as you get to keep the money and power flowing in.
