Could you tell me what that bird is please? I saw one in a very dirty river beside Belfast Lough a year or so ago, can only assume it got lost! Is it an egret?

We had one with a nativity scene, and each picture represented the days in Bethlehem leading up to the birth of baby Jesus ('the Kings arrive', etc.) I think the creator got a bit stuck for ideas though, and added things like 'the sun shone' and 'the cat miaowed'.

Yes, I got the ruler over my hand for spelling 'Wednesday' wrong and then a week or so later for misspelling 'Tuesday'. Late 70s!

Seems odd not to see DH Lawrence anywhere on this list. Was he really so minor and marginal a figure in 1925? Or just considered a bit of a crank?
