Most people don't know what's in the SAVE Act.
If the goal is to disenfranchise voters who are poor or even middle class, this bill is great.
Possessing a REAL ID, original birth certificate (no photo copies) or a passport will eliminate a lot of voters.

Note to Congress - The SAVE Act is not a Red or Blue thing. The Act is well intentioned but deeply flawed. Please read it before you vote for a law that will disenfranchise 10's of millions of voters. And many more married women than men - if they changed their name at marriage.

2/2 Most REAL IDs as issued do not work. There are only 5 states that issue REAL IDs (Enhanced Driver's Licenses) that show proof of citizenship (MI, MN, NY, VT & WA). There will be a lot of surprised voters when they find out they don't have the right ID.

The SAVE Act is well intentioned but needs some tweaks. In its current form, to vote requires a passport (which 1/2 of Americans don't have) --
or two forms of ID (e.g. a certified birth certificate & REAL-ID/driver's license).
This will disenfranchise 10's of millions of voters.
