Recently I realized I started my riding career on a Kawasaki dual-purpose bike (1970 175cc F3 Bushwacker) and may well end it on another Kawasaki DP. Back-up plan: When I get too old and creaky for two wheels I'll put a sidecar on the KLR and buy Sophie some Doggles. #motosky #motorcycle

This is precisely the reason all but one of my bikes over the last 40 years or so have had tubeless tires. I can put in a plug in minutes and be on my way. I fear a tube will one day strand me in BFE with no cell signal and they'll eventually find my bleached bones in a Kilimanjaro jacket and pants.

When someone tells you a stock KLR650 muffler weighs a ton, they're only slightly exaggerating. This used one arrived today to relace the SuperTrapp that came on the bike. Tomorrow I'll rig up a block-and-tackle setup from the garage ceiling to hoist it into place. #motosky #motorcycle

For such a comfort-loving dog Sophie's very fond of lying on the grass in the rain until she's soaked. To her credit she won't go in the house until I've toweled her off, but then she hops up on the sofa and leaves a damp spot the size of a large pizza. I hate that sofa anyway. #goldenretriever
