How many rows were “enough” on that first sock? When will I learn to write things down?? I’m not even trying to see the black knit columns, so purl bumps to the rescue! The answer is 8. Eight rows of corrugated ribbing is enough. #knitsky #sockknitting #strandedknits 🧶

The sock, continued. I keep wanting to complicate this somehow as the pattern is quite repetitive and I find the lack of color in the yarn discouraging. I’m not unhappy with the result, just not finding the process as engaging as I might like. #processknitter #knitsky #strandedknitting 🧶

When I was a new knitter and read EZ for the first time, she opined that she found the perfect amount of ribbing to be what you have when you get tired of knitting the ribbing.

Remembering her snarky wisdom today as I decide, yep, that’s plenty of ribbing for a sock.

The hands each weigh 28g, which left me with about 30g for cuffs. After knitting the first cuff, it weighs 10g and she doesn’t want them longer so I will have a bit left over. #knitsky #🧶

Working on some gloves for the offspring. I have 87g of Wollmeise DK so I used a provisional cast on at the base of the hand. I will knit both hands divide the remaining yarn and then add ribbing later. #knit 🧶
