Hello folks. The launch of my book “Approved Schools for Girls in England 1933-1973” will be at The National Archives in Kew in the early evening of January 14th. It’s hybrid but would be lovely to see some friendly faces in person. More details here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/book-launc...

Mystery anonymous person, you have concealed yourself very neatly but your very generous donation has topped me up to a solid £1000! Thank you! That’s four full days of a Macmillan nurse and many people who will benefit from your generosity! THANK YOU X

Final training walk for the Macmillan Mighty Hike in a fortnight. Will I run a marathon? Absolutely not. Will I walk one with pre-advertised snack breaks? Absolutely.

Our family have great faith in the Cats Estate Agency and in due course I am sure another will make its way to us.

Ah, she looks like an excellent feline. Very sorry to hear of your loss too.
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
She was. A small and shouty old battleaxe. And we adored her. Fortunately our youngest, Fred, has taken up the mantle of being the shoutiest cat in the household with gusto.
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
Oh wow. That’s amazing. She was quite a character!
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
She was such a pretty thing. Tiny though. Fred, our gallomphing MC, used to actually step over her to get to his breakfast. She made up for it in noise. So small. So LOUD.
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
I had the privilege of working with her during our Cold War season in 2019 and she was extraordinary to spend time with. Rest well, Dame Stella.

The vet was at pains to tell us that a) she was almost off the charts and b) she was the equivalent of 112 human years!
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
She was. Her previous people gave her away on gumtree and she was the sweetest little cat. Always here for a senior cat!
jessamycarlson.bsky.social
She graced you with her presence and you were accordingly honoured. **nods**

Said a sad farewell to our very elderly tabby cat earlier. She has been the oldest cat on the books at the vets for ages, at the grand old age of at least twenty four. She’s been ours for twelve of those and we loved her for all of that time. Rest well Molly.

So sorry to hear this Melinda. Thinking of you xx
